Round Nose
A round or bulbous tip is typically caused by unnaturally large lower lateral
cartilages of the tip of the nose. These noses typically lack tip definition and
appear large and round. The tip of the nose can also droop, since the oversized
cartilages have nowhere to go but down. Correction of the round nasal tip
requires careful trimming and removal of the excess portion of the tip cartilages
as well as placement of stitches to help narrow and reshape the remaining
portions of the tip cartilages. Intimate knowledge of nasal anatomy and function
is required to produce a natural and aesthetically pleasing outcome.
